Documentation for a commercial banking authorisation in Mexico
An application for commercial banking authorisation in Mexico by a financial group with foreign ownership. Indigo translated and laid out several sets of corporate, banking, tax and contractual documents in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French, with terminology control.
The transaction
An international financial group sought authorisation to operate as a commercial bank in Mexico. The engagement formed part of the preparation of its regulatory application file for the CNBV: documents from different jurisdictions had to be read as part of a single application, using consistent terminology. The document sets were translated in stages, using shared glossaries and cross-references between related terms.
Indigo’s work
Indigo handled assignments in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French, covering corporate, banking, tax and contractual materials. Translation, terminology control and document layout were coordinated over several stages. The team maintained consistent terminology across the document sets and, in accounting sections, used IFRS and Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF) terminology as applicable. Glossaries and links between related terms helped preserve continuity across languages and documents.
Translation deliverables
Multilingual versions and document layout were prepared for incorporation into the banking authorisation file, bringing together corporate, banking, tax and contractual materials.
