Translation guided by legal judgment
Sworn translations of legal, financial and corporate documents for complex transactions. A senior team of legal professionals handles large document sets.

In cross-border matters, the translation is the document
A transaction may involve documents from different jurisdictions, related annexes and versions that change during the engagement. Indigo treats the translation as a set of documents, coordinating terms, references and changes across them.
What we do
Legal, financial & corporate translation
Contracts and documentation for due diligence reviews and filings with authorities; financial statements, notes and audit reports; corporate and tax documents; submissions and evidentiary material for proceedings and disputes.
Certified & sworn translation
Certified translations for submission to Mexican authorities in filings and proceedings.
Large-scale translation projects
Translation of extensive files and related document sets, with glossary and document-version control and phased deliveries under the agreed schedule.
Terminology & document layout
Depending on the engagement, we identify the relevant jurisdictions, recipients and intended procedure. We check defined terms and glossaries and work on the source document's structure, numbering, tables and references in the agreed delivery format. Where needed, we also provide document layout (DTP).
We review the source files to determine the delivery format and the document layout work required.
Working alongside your legal and finance teams
We coordinate document versions, terminology queries and delivery priorities with those responsible for the matter. Your team works directly with the Indigo legal professionals who oversee and review the translation.

Discuss a matter →A compact, senior practice. By design.
Indigo was founded in Mexico City in 2019 by legal professionals to support legal, finance and corporate teams in matters where linguistic precision forms part of the substantive work.
Indigo is a deliberately small practice. Matters are overseen by senior lawyer-linguists and handled by a specialist team that retains the context of the matter, maintains consistent terminology and preserves continuity across the documents throughout the engagement.
Clients work directly with the person handling the engagement.
Direct oversight
The Indigo team member responsible for the matter coordinates scope, questions and review.
Technical capacity
The team uses computer-assisted translation tools in environments subject to security and confidentiality measures, glossaries and version controls to organise files and track changes.
Access to the documents is limited to those assigned to the engagement, and transfer and storage methods are agreed with the client according to the sensitivity of the information.
Team continuity
The work stays with a small team bound by confidentiality obligations and familiar with the context and document history of the engagement.
How we work
Four criteria guide the work
From the source document to delivery
Documentary and legal context
We identify the document's purpose, the relevant jurisdictions, the parties and the concepts that need to be adapted to the target language. We raise queries when the source text needs clarification.
Bilingual review
We compare the source and the translation, checking defined terms and cross-references among related documents.
Confidentiality
Before sensitive files are shared, we agree the transfer method and limit access to those who need the documents for the engagement.
Follow-up after delivery
Queries about terminology, revisions or document versions are handled through the Indigo team member responsible for the engagement.
Common questions
What distinguishes Indigo's approach?+
Engagements are directed and reviewed by legal professionals with experience in legal practice and specialised translation. A small team maintains the context of each matter, with a designated contact responsible for queries, reviews and delivery. We can adapt our work to your team's pace and the transaction timetable.
How do you handle high-volume translation projects?+
We review the volume, languages and relationships between the documents to plan the engagement. We use computer-assisted translation tools with security and confidentiality safeguards, alongside glossaries and version controls, to coordinate work across the document set. We agree priorities and, where appropriate, phased deliveries in line with the matter's timetable.
How are confidential documents handled?+
Access is limited to those assigned to the engagement, who are bound by confidentiality obligations. Before sensitive files are shared, we agree with the client on transfer and storage methods according to the nature of the information.
How do you prepare a quotation and agree on delivery?+
To prepare a quotation, we review the files and confirm the languages, intended use and required delivery date. The price takes account of the volume, complexity, review, document layout and, where applicable, certification and urgency. Before starting, we agree the scope, budget and schedule; any subsequent changes to these terms are agreed with the client.
Can you work while documents are still under negotiation?+
We can begin with a reference version and track updates throughout the engagement. We compare revisions to identify which passages and related documents need adjustment and, where the format permits, use tracked changes to show the updates. We coordinate their incorporation with those responsible for the matter and agree any necessary adjustment to the scope or schedule.
How is a sworn translation prepared?+
We translate the document's content and compare the final version with the source, including names, figures, dates, seals and annotations. The translation is delivered with the sworn translator's certification, signature and stamp. Where applicable, we follow the submission requirements set by the receiving authority.
